I guess I've always taken for granted that my RX would be correct. Sunday night I was taking my RX and when I placed the second pill on my tongue I noticed it had a taste. The pills never have any taste, and I first thought maybe my hand was wet and got the pill wet or something. I took it out and looked and immediately knew it was not the correct pill. It said Beach 1111 on it, which I knew my pills only have numbers. I went and got the bottle and checked all the rest and did not find any others that were wrong. We put it in a bag, and I took it to the pharmacy. The pharmacist was concerned and confused how that had happened and very apologetic. So lesson learned....always check your pills before taking them!
Has this ever happened to you? It is scary to think of the pharmacy making a mistake. I guess it is something I've never really thought about happening.

About me...
I am linking up today with SUYL at Kelly's Korner so I thought I'd do a little post to introduce myself.
Welcome, thank you for stopping by today!
I am married to my best friend and college sweetheart. We will celebrate our 11 year anniversary in June. I am so thankful for him and our relationship and how we have grown through the years. He is the best! We have a son who is 7 (he will be 8 in August) and finishing 2nd grade. I am a stay at home Mom. I taught 1st and 2nd grades before Caleb was born. I volunteer twice a week at my son's school and also teach a class of 4 year olds at our church on Sunday mornings.
We have lived here since December 2010. The move was quite a learning experience for us as we went through months of waiting and unknowns. God has been faithful and His timing about everything was perfect. We are so glad to be here and love our little city and home.
I enjoy reading and do book reviews here on my blog for various publishers. I am a letter writer and love sending mail to family and friends and a group of senior citizens (a Yahoo group I found a few years ago). I have recently started using Pinterest and enjoy finding ideas there to make. So far I've tried out some recipes, a Valentine's Day wreath, and a Mother's Day craft. Things I like: Precious Moments figurines, pens and stationery, Sonic Happy Hour, baking, the color purple, working with children, trying new recipes.

DVD: Unplanned + Giveaway
I had the privilege of receiving the DVD Unplanned, and my husband and I watched it together. This is a well-done documentary of the story of Abby Johnson, former director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Bryan, TX.
About the documentary:
Abby Johnson thought she was helping women in crisis. She was about to learn the truth . . . and facing the secrets of her own painful past would be the toughest truth of all. In this documentary based on the book Unplanned, learn how Abby Johnson went from Planned Parenthood clinic director to leading voice for life and women in crisis.
Take a couple of minutes to watch this clip.
My thoughts:
Having been a pro life supporter for as long as I can remember, I was excited to be able to watch this movie and enjoyed watching this one hour movie with my husband. As I watched I learned so much about the Planned Parenthood organization. I feel like this documentary had many lessons for the viewer beyond just the support for life.
1. Our prayers matter.
2. We don't know how what we say or do in Christ's love can impact another person, even if we don't see the results immediately.
3. We need more people with courage like Abby to stand up for what is right.
I'd like to also share with you an event coming soon, the Unite for Life webcast. Click here for the website and more information about how to register for this FREE event.
Also, I am giving away a copy of the DVD Unplanned. This would be a wonderful video to watch yourself and share with others in your family or church. Leave a comment on this blog post telling me if you have read the book Unplanned or followed Abby Johnson's story. I will choose a winner on Friday and announce the winner on Saturday, May 7. I will send you a gift certificate provided by Tyndale for you to take to your local retailer to get this DVD. Make sure you include your email address so I can contact you.

"How You Live" by Point of Grace
For this week's song I've chosen "How You Live" by Point of Grace.
I have been reminded this week of how we never know how much time we have on this earth. Sunday I found out that one of my classmates passed away. Steven was with his wife in Cancun and took a nap and didn't wake up. There are not many other details available at this time and a lot of questions.
News of Steven's death spread quickly among our classmates. I was asked to pass the information along since I keep the email addresses for class reunions and such. Our little class was always very close so this has come as a shock to so many. I believe this was the first death of a classmate.
There is some great advice in this song. I've been reminded on the shortness of life and the importance to make the most of every moment, telling people you love them, and not taking life for granted.
Please join me in prayer for Steven's family.

Proverbs & Prayers Week #44
This week's verse is Proverbs 24:11, 12:--
"Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. If you say, 'But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?"
This is a longer verse and really more of one to make you think. It's made me think anyway. When I was reading through Proverbs to choose the verses for this year, this verse made me think about those babies who lose their lives to abortions. It just really spoke to me that my voice does matter, and I should speak up to protect the lives of the innocent. This is just what it made me think of as I read it. You may think of others you need to help who are "being led away to death."
Do you have any prayer requests this week?
Please remember the following in prayer:
~ Orion's family. They plan to have a private ceremony this week on the one month anniversary of Orion's death where they will plant a tree and bury his ashes.
~ Jo, a lady at our church. She thought she had a kidney stone and at the hospital found out she has bone cancer.
Thank you for praying with me.

"A Child is Born"
I heard a story on KLOVE this week about new photographs that were taken of a baby developing in the womb. Have you seen them? Click here to see them. I am amazed to see the details of the tiny fingers and blood vessels.
(Also if you haven't signed up for my book giveaway yet, go do that too!)

Focus on the Family
Today's message on Focus on the Family is very moving. Listen if you have a chance.
Dr. Dobson speaks with Gianna Jessen, an abortion survivor, as well as Jill Stanek, a life advocate. I read the book about Gianna many years ago. This is a very powerful discussion.
Here is the ad if you would like to view it.

Something I feel strongly about...
I mentioned the Mid Cities Pregnancy Center in my post about the SCC concert. Wonderful stories were shared through a video presentation before the concert began about the lives saved at the pregnancy center. Then again half-way through the concert the director spoke about their program and showed another movie about a young girl who chose adoption instead of abortion. The girl was in the audience along with the family who adopted her baby (the boy was with them too!). It was very touching to see the family in real life and know the center is really making a difference and saving lives.
I have always felt strongly about abortion and remember preparing speeches against abortion in high school. I was thankful to be at the concert and be reminded again the value of every life and the need in our society for programs such as this one.
In our Sunday school class we recently watched a DVD called "The Silencing of God." The speaker presented facts about the heritage of our country and the faith that shaped our country for many years which is now fading away. Anyway, one of the points he makes is that there are many issues with which we place importance and we use these issues to help us decide who gets our vote....everything from education and the environment to terrorism and health care. What are the important issues though? The two he points out are homosexuality and abortion.
When we were at the concert I thought back to the DVD series. What is God's reaction to the abortions that go on every hour every day? Are we doing anything about it? We are to value life. Is it okay to sit by and allow these abortions to continue? What can we do to make a difference and stand up for life? These are questions I've been thinking about lately. What can I do to help others choose life?
