As long as it is called Today: Christian wives/husbands (May)
Welcome to "As long as it is called Today." Our focus on the second week of the month is to encourage one another as Christian wives/husbands. I hope you will join me each week on Tuesdays as we encourage each other in our daily lives as Christians, spouses, parents, and home keepers.
Visit here to read answers to last week's question or leave an answer.
Today's question: Share an idea for a cheap date night activity.
My answer: I love walking with my husband. It takes me back to our time at our college during our dating days. It is special to walk and talk, holding hands and sharing our hearts.
Leave your answer in the comment section and check out others' answers next week. God bless you! Thanks for your encouragement.

Go to the park, and have a moonlight picnic.
Jay and I love to walk the beach together and take a basket of grapes and bottled water and cheese and crackers.
Talk along the shore and be mindful of God's beautiful creation and what He has done for us and be excited about what He is going to do!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and commenting! I enjoy meeting new people, which is a great benefit of blogging.
A cheap date idea? Well, when our boys were young, my hubby and I would have a special dinner at home every Friday night. We'd get the boys fed and in bed in record time! We each took turns preparing those special meals. We always ate by candlelight with soft music in the background.
It was a great way to reconnect at the end of each week, and it was definitely cheap! No baby sitter necessary. :o)
Blessings,
Beth
Mr. Incredible and I love to take long walks together too. There is a special sweetness of sharing our day with each other while we get some good exercise.
Chad and I hardly ever spend time together at home, so for us, renting a movie and watching it *together* is a trest in itsefl!!
Great question as always!
God bless-
Amanda
Not sure if this qualifies as "date night" but something my hubby and I like to do special is make a camp fire (we have a fire pit) after the kids are in bed, and just sit outside in the quiet evening, talking and just enjoying being together without distractions and busyness.
Our favorite date is our cheapest date... Going to Barnes & Noble... We stop off and pick up a coffee at the adjoining Starbucks... browse for books and then find chairs by each other and read. We've never figured out why it is our favorite date... but it is!
Mike and I have several things we like to do for date night and they are all free or cheap. (It sure makes our entertainment budget small!)
We take walks in the woods. Easy to do since we live in the woods!
We drive to the top of the mountain to our favorite overlook and watch the sunset. Sometimes we go later and take a glow in the dark constellations chart and just stand amazed at the expanse of His hand. To think that the heavens are merely the width of His hand. Amazing!
We also like to go for 4 wheeler rides and explore the trails that way.
Our most expensive date would be driving across the mountain to the TN side of the Cherohala Skyway and get the world's greatest hot dogs at Tellico Beach. Then we sit at the picnic table along the river and watch the kids playing in the shallow water (during the summer of course!). Then for the ride home we pick up 2 chocolate shakes and come home "the back way" and stop by Bald River Falls. This winter, we discovered another waterfall. He took 2 of our grandchildren up there to explore the falls a month ago. I haven't been close up yet.
And that's the extent of our dates... well, occasionally we watch a movie on TV.
We're not very exciting people, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world!
One of our favorite things to do and it's cheap is we get on the bus and go downtown and walk around and look at the beautiful city we live in here in Germany!
