For my last Friday Favorite of November I've chosen "Go Light Your World" by Kathy Troccoli. This has been a special song to me for many years now. As a child before school my Mom would pray with me and she'd always tell me to do my best and let my light shine. You can see that I posted that verse in my profile.
What does it mean to let your light shine? We visited our old church Sunday night and that was the topic of his lesson. I loved his points about light and thought they'd be perfect to share here.
1. Light dispels darkness. You can't have darkness and light together.
2. Light gives guidance. Think of a lighthouse. Ships can find their way by looking to the lighthouse.
3. Light attracts. When you're out on the porch in the summer and tun the light on, bugs go directly to the light.
I love the correlation this makes to our lives as Christians. Remember that the Light isn't you, the Light is in you, shining to point others to Jesus. Are you letting His light shine through you?
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and enjoy the weekend as we finish November and begin December. I have already looked at the Christmas blog backgrounds and am excited to change mine. I will wait till the first for that I suppose! There are several cute choices; I'll have to narrow it down!

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father."
Matthew 5:14-16

You are such a sweet blessing, your light always shines my friend.
Nice post, Bethany! That's such a good passage; especially the very last line. The reason for our good deeds is to glorify God.
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving!
We did, too!
Happy weekend!
Susan
