Thankful Thursday

Wednesday I was thinking about grace and thought it would be neat if Iris chose grace as the theme for this week's Thankful Thursday. I found her post Wednesday night and she did choose the theme grace!

I'm thankful for grace. We talked about grace in our Wednesday night lesson and how we aren't under the law. I was thinking about grace originally because I realized a mistake I made. I was sorting our bills Wednesday afternoon and realized that one was due and I missed it. It was the credit card bill. We pay it off each month if we put anything on it and I cannot stand being late. I'm never late! I just wanted to cry when I saw the due date as 10/07. I immediately paid it through my bank, but it was after the time for that day so it will count on 10/09. I called the company and asked if they'd put a note on it that it was paid. I asked if they had a grace period. He said the grace period is from the time they send the statement to the due date. I plan to call back once the payment processes and see if they will waive it since I've not been late before. I cried when my husband got home. He had no clue what was wrong or why I was crying. He comforted me. It isn't a big deal in the big picture, it doesn't really matter. I am more relaxed about it today. I know he's right in that it was a mistake and I can't go back and change it now but can double-check my due dates in the future.

Today I'm thankful for...

*my husband taking off work so we could go to the State Fair together. I'm glad he has some days saved up and uses them wisely.

*hearing my sweet boy's laughter. I've put this on my thankful list before I am sure! Sunday evening when we were at my brother-in-law's house America's Funniest Videos came on and Caleb saw something on there as he was playing that made him laugh. He was laughing so hard and we were laughing listening to him laugh! What a sweet sound!

*enjoying our day at the fair even though it started out rainy. We could have had bad attitudes and been grumbling about the rain but none of us were. It made for a nice day!

*seeing family and friends.

*God's grace. It is something I don't understand but feel thankful that he shows us grace.

And praise God, His grace doesn't end like the 'grace period' of a credit card bill!

Have a blessed day, my friend.

Hi, thanks for posting to my blogs.

I have overlooked a bill before, and when I humbly called and asked the company, they agreed to waive the charges. Thankfully, my credit with them was in good standing. That certainly helped.

I was laughing as I read of your method of paying your bills. I am such a stickler for paying on time too. I love your blog design. It's the first time I've been on it but will definitely be back.

I love Thankful Thursdays...and I'm also thankful for God's grace to me...can't earn it and certainly don't deserve it.

That was so sweet of your husband to take the day off work. I am hoping mine will take a day off next week. :)

It is so dis-heartening when we miss a due date for our bills. I have done it before too...Now I check every bill trice...

Yes, I agree, children's laughter is so contagious :)

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this past week.

Blessings to you and yours...
