Friday Favorites: Hymn #4

We are to the last Friday in January already. I must say it was hard to choose just four hymns because there are so many I love. I have chosen Count Your Many Blessings for today.

I was reminded of this hymn when I visited Marsha on her 5 Minute Retreats. They have all been blessing my life to read each day. The idea is to set a timer for 5 minutes and make a numbered list of all the blessings in your life. This was a simple activity yet it really does show you how MUCH we have to be thankful for in our lives everyday. It is so easy to feel down, especially during the dreary days we often have this time of year. When we focus on our blessings, the day just seems a little brighter! I know it did for me! I hope you'll give it a try.

Since reading her post I have had this song in my head and had to add it too to my list of favorites. Next Friday will be February 1 so I'll start a new type of song then for my Friday Favorites.

Hope you have a great weekend!

This verse was in my inbox this morning.
"O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge." Psalm 62:8

That is such a lovely hymn... learned as a child and what a fun melody! And one of the best pieces of advice... ever. I took a grief class and they encouraged us to keep a Grateful Journal. Wow! Once you start thinking about your blessings... it's hard to stop.

It really does brighten my day to start counting blessings. I've known this song as far back as I can remember.
I am going to email you something about the verse you put at the end today.
