We're home!

It is always a nice feeling to be home after a trip and especially after this trip being gone all week. We enjoyed our time and Caleb loved staying in the hotel. I felt like I really relaxed. We slept late in the mornings, and I read a lot while Caleb napped in the afternoons. It was great not having any distractions....no chores to do, no internet access (I wasn't paying $3.95 for 15 min. to check email!).

While we were there it seemed I was surrounded by busy people. Everywhere we went there were people rushing. Many times I saw people running down the street to try to catch a train or cab. Then I could look a little farther and see the interstate constantly full of zooming cars (unless they were in a traffic jam). Even in the hotel some people seemed frantic to get to their destination. The "city life" is not my cup of tea. I just wanted to tell the people to slow down! What is the hurry? All of this made me think of what I can do in my own life to slow down. I see how fast my litte boy is growing up and changing. I don't want to be so busy hurrying things up that I miss out on the things that really matter. Sometimes I think we get so bogged down with doing things, even if they are beneficial or educational things, that we lose sight of what is important. I was reminded of this throughout the week.

I agree we can get bogged down with things in our life.
I like small town living too.
