1. Last time you drove/flew 500 miles (ish)? What's a place you'd like to visit that lies approximately 500 miles from your current location?
Hmmmm. Our vacation to Arkansas was probably close to 500 miles from home. Our list of places we want to go back to is growing....and more than 500 miles! Alaska, Florida, Tennessee.....
A place I'd like to visit about 500 miles from home is Carthage, MO to visit the Precious Moments Chapel again.
2. Tell us about a time recently it felt like you were 'racing against the clock'.
On Mondays when Titus has a game I know we have a short window between picking him up from school and being to the field to warm up before the game. I try to plan meals I can make quickly or just need to put into the oven so he can eat before we leave. He has a little down time and homework, eats, gets into his uniform, and it's time to leave it seems.
3. Have you ever attended any really large sporting events? What was your impression of the experience?
Not really, we went to Cowboys Stadium to watch ACU play when Caleb was little. It was a huge venue but not full of people. All I remember was that it was really hot in there and the food/water was very expensive.
The Superbowl, The Kentucky Derby, The World Series, FIFA World Cup, The Indianapolis 500, The Daytona 500, The Olympics, The Masters, Wimbledon, The Boston Marathon, March Madness, Tour de France, Monaco's Grand Prix, The Open (golf), The Ryder Cup, The Stanley Cup Finals..of the events listed which would you most like to attend in person? Or maybe one that's not listed?
It would be fun to watch gymnastics or diving at the Olympics.
4. Are you an iced tea drinker? If so, do you drink it year round, or only in the spring and summer months? Do you make your own or buy it bottled? Sweet or unsweet? Flavored? Lemon or no lemon? How about a Long Island Iced Tea?
Yes I do drink iced tea. I may have an addiction now! I drink it year round. We have a place called HTeaO that has delicious flavored tea so when I am in town and it's happy hour, I will often stop and get sweet raspberry. And they give points to for each purchase which add up for discounts or free items. But I also like just plain unsweet tea. Our local Sonic does that just right. No lemons in my tea, just my water.
We don't make tea at home a lot, I'm not sure why. I asked for a pitcher for Christmas to use specifically for tea. I guess I don't think about it much to make it at home.
5. April 20th is Volunteer Recognition Day...do you volunteer in some way? Tell us about it. If not, tell us about a volunteer you appreciate.
I am thankful I get to volunteer at the school. It was always a dream of mine because my Mom did that when I was in school. This year I have worked some in the library and go to read with a student on Mondays. I was in the hall and heard one of the girls say "that's Titus' Mom." It made me smile cause I used to always hear "That's Caleb's Mom" when I was at the school. I also make copies on Fridays.
At our church our family serves on the fellowship committee. We help with meals on Wednesday night (we do those twice a month) and other fellowship events. I like it that we can all help.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
We enjoyed celebrating Titus at his skating party on Saturday with family and friends.
Last night there was a free event called ACU at the zoo for students/alumni. It was a beautiful evening. We got to ride the carousel and train plus feed the giraffes. We stopped for ice cream on the way home.

I TOTALLY know what you mean about that gap - on Tuesdays my daughter gets a ride with her piano teacher, does her lesson, then my hubs picks her up. She has roughly an hour to eat a snack or something before dance from 5:30-7. These days, I'm too busy at work to be there for her but I feel that squeeze even so.
I always enjoyed volunteering in the schools my daughters attended. We love to go to big college football games. Professional events are often ridiculous in terms of ticket prices, parking, food, etc. but college is usually about tailgating before the game and we enjoy that. Tickets are usually more reasonable too.
I was always volunteering at the children's school, back in the day. It's a fond memory now. Have a great rest of your week!
I remember how hectic it was during the spring season when I had two or three of my kids playing baseball and softball! Definitely racing against the clock, but so much fun! Have a great week!
I hope you get to make those trips. That does sound like your racing against the clock, yet he needs to accomplish those things beforehand. Gymnastics is my favorite too! Nice that you volunteer at the school and at church. Sounds like the skating party was fun and the zoo too. Giraffe's are my favorite. Enjoy your weekend.
