Book + Journal: Who Are You Following?

About the book:

If influencers have power over us, who are you allowing to influence you?

In an online world obsessed with follows and likes, it’s important to consider what you’re really searching for. When you follow someone, it’s typically because you want to be like them or live like they do–but who have you placed as your role models?

In Who Are You Following? bestselling author and social media personality Sadie Robertson Huff dives deep into exploring who we are allowing to influence our daily thoughts and actions. With an excellent grasp of scriptural truths, using current research, surveys, and personal and biblical stories, Sadie draws on her own experience as a social media influencer and addresses topics such as

  • how to go from being liked to being truly loved
  • our true motives for fame
  • being seen from the outside versus being known
  • comparing ourselves to others
  • questioning why did I post that?!
  • how to respond to cancel culture
  • wondering does God still love me?

This book is perfect for young Christians wondering how they can live a vibrant, bold, and uncompromising life of faith in God by following the Messiah–the ultimate influencer. Discover the love, purpose, and fulfillment that is found only in Jesus.

My thoughts:
This is a refreshing read.  It is extremely relevant for the world we live in after so many are chasing after "likes" and promoting themselves on social media.  The wisdom shared is what we all need to hear and be reminded of.

I like Sadie's writing style and the stories she openly shares from her own experiences and struggles.  Readers will be able to relate to her.  I appreciate her honesty

One thing I like about the book is the little boxes every few pages called "Ask yourself."  These questions related to the text really make you think about how this applies to your own life.  (And some of them will make you say "ouch!" as you consider your answers.)

For example, this is one of them:

I highly recommend you read this book for a new perspective and if you need a "reset."  I would definitely recommend it to high school and college students but those older can definitely benefit from this too.

Think about this:

In a world where everyone is striving to be seen, I challenge you to find the freedom that comes with being not just seen, but truly known.

Also there is a companion journal to go with the book.

About the journal:

In Who Are You Following? Guided Journalyou'll discover:

  • additional stories and tips from Sadie
  • thought-provoking prompts and questions
  • Scripture, lists, tips, and additional helps with the topics covered
  • prayers from Sadie and places to write out your own prayers

Dive into this fresh, insightful journey to discover who you're really following and how to align your focus to be on God. With each page you'll discover more of the God who brings us a life of vibrant faith and being truly known and loved. And when you follow Jesus first, you'll find the love, value, and purpose you've been looking for.

 My thoughts:
The journal is a great companion to go along with the book.  In this full color hardback journal you will find chapters to go along with each chapter of the book.  It is has several pictures of Sadie along with pages of inspirational quotes.  The chapters have questions with space to write your answers, verses to meditate on, and a prayer to end.

This journal by itself or along with the book would make a nice gift for a young adult in your life.

Go to this site to find out more or to order.

I received a copy of this book and journal from FrontGate Media for my honest review.  Thank you.
