I have several friends who are coaches or wives of coaches. A couple of weeks ago I saw their posts on Facebook that the coaches were going back to work already. In Texas football is huge and practices have already started (I can't imagine those boys and coaches out practicing in that heat, prayers for that too!).
Coaches play an important role in the lives of many youth. Many young people do not have role models at home, and these coaches can be a positive influence in their lives. I've seen many coaches who take their role seriously and realize how important they can be in these impressionable minds.
Pray for the coaches that they will realize the impact they are having with their team. Pray that they will be good examples in their conduct, speech, and attitude about the game. Pray also for their spouses who take on more responsibility at home while the coach is away coaching various sports.
