I don't really remember particular summers. Growing up we would take a few days to go stay at at cabin at the state park. Those are some good memories. I didn't do camps in the summer.
2. When you have a trip coming up do you make a list and check it twice to ensure you don't forget anything? Or are you a 'throw whatever you can think of into the suitcase at the last minute' kind of packer? When returning from a trip do you unpack immediately or leave the suitcase right where it lands?
I always make lists when I'm preparing and packing for a trip. It depends on where we are going probably. I start a grocery list/meal plan if we are taking the camper somewhere.
Fan is always on my list if we are traveling by car because I use a fan to sleep. We've tried apps before for the white noise but it's not the same for me.
When returning I sort the clothes and get them washed that night or the next day, depending on the time we get back home.
3. What's your favorite food or beverage made with lemons? Is that a flavor you enjoy?
I like lemon pie but haven't had one in a long time. I do love lemon treats! Lemon bars sound good about now!
4. When was the last time you had to make lemonade out of lemons, figuratively speaking I mean?
I feel like there could be many answers to this question in regards to small things that have happened. Something unexpected comes up and delays us so we don't leave at the time we needed to but we just have to go with it and get there when we get there.
ETA I thought of a specific one. My son made an ABC book this summer of sharks. We took it to be laminated and the laminator messed up. I've never had this happen at Mardel when I've laminated. A few of his pages were crinkled and really damaged. I told him we'd just reprint them at home and come back to laminate it. The worker was helpful and said it happens often.
5. Did you like school growing up? Why or why not?
Yes school was my favorite! I loved preparing for back to school, finding out my teacher, picking out first day clothes. I played school a lot in my room. I have great memories with (almost) all of my teachers and blessed by their influence. I went to a small school my whole life K-12. We had 58 in our graduating class (counting our exchange student from Germany).
I became a teacher. I taught for 3 years before our oldest was born (which sounds funny to say now because he turned 20 this week!).
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Most schools here starated today. We don't start till next Wednesday. Hooray for one more week of summer with my boy at home!

I loved all those things you mentioned about school, too. I did not go to any small schools. I think there were 1,000 kids in my graduating class! Happy Hodgepodge to you!
My sister and I played a lot of school growing up, as did my girls. In fact my youngest daughter asked for an overhead projector for her 10th birthday. Hubs office was updating to white boards or something similar so he was able to get one from work for her. She loved it. And she grew up and became a teacher : ) School started here Aug 1 which is absurd in my book. Enjoy this next week before school schedules roll in!
Oh, our trip to Alaska is a most memorable summer for me as well. Enjoyed your answers and thanks for your sweet comments for my sweet Daddy.
I always wanted to be a teacher too, although I lived out my dream as a homeschool mom instead of a classroom teacher. I liked your example of making the best of it with the laminating problems, and glad you made it work for your son! Have a wonderful week!
My summers have always been good ones, I also like to sleep with the fan on as does my siblings and daughters but not so much hubby except in summer he is ok with it being on when it's hot, I could have it on all year round
I like your answers for #1. We light white noise. Sorry the laminator messed up on the book. I'm glad you liked school. Do you ever think of teaching again? Hope you are enjoying the week.
