SSMT #5

For my next verse I have chosen one from Proverbs. I came across this verse recently and felt it was a good one to think about and memorize.

“Careless words stab like a sword, but wise words bring healing.” Proverbs 12:18, NLT

Have you ever said something and as soon as the words left your lips, you wished you could take it back? I imagine we all have at some point. It is important to think before we speak. Who wants to be labeled as careless? That is not an attractive label, and it’s certainly not the kind of words we should use. When we take a moment to pause and think though, our words will be much wiser. Those kind of words can bring peace, comfort, and healing to situations.

Have a day of blessings!

Yes, I realize how many times I speak negatively just out of 'habit'. There is so much power in our words.

I always say that I have a "filter" that helps me to think about words and process my thoughts before I say them. Sometimes it doesn't work, but it is part of who I try to be - to be careful of my words.
