Prayers & Promises Week #2

Thank you for joining with me in prayer last week. I hope the past week was a blessed one for you. I had a story to share about thankfulness that happened to me this week.

On Thursday mornings I go down to a local food pantry to help pass out the sacks of food as the clients come. It was a very cold morning, and everyone had come inside the office area to wait instead of outside like they normally do. I was standing by the desk and as a woman was waiting her turn I asked her "How are you today?" Her answer, "I'm blessed, how are you?" It made me smile to hear her answer. What a wonderful attitude of thankfulness! I thought what a good attitude this is, and I told her I liked her answer.

This week's verse on THANKFULNESS is Ephesians 5:4--
"Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving."

This is another verse about thankfulness. Our world is full of the kind of talk listed in this verse. Imagine if there was more thanksgiving instead of obscenity. Let that difference start with us. Let us speak our thankfulness everyday in all we do.

Do you have any prayer requests to share?

~ I was thankful to read Charlotte's good news regarding her request last week.

~ A man at our church, Ron, had colon surgery this week and had some complications with bleeding.

~ A young Mom, Claire, was in a weather related wreck Friday morning. She had surgery on her leg and I believe has a broken collar bone as well.

~ There is a button in my sidebar now to remember to pray for Denise and Eddie. If you are not familiar with Denise (Shortybear), she is a wonderful encourager and prayer warrior for Jesus that I have "met" through her blog. You can read more about their situation now over at Marsha's Musings.

Thank you for stopping by for Spiritual Sundays.

Have a day of blessings!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I have so much to be thankful for that I couldn't even begin to list everything. I put Shortybear's button on both of my blogs this morning. It is exciting to see how God works in our lives.
Blessings,
