Mighty is our God

I read this passage from Psalms this weekend. (Psalm 93:3-5)

The seas have lifted up, O LORD,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.

Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the LORD on high is mighty.

Your statutes stand firm;
holiness adorns your house
for endless days, O LORD.

Have you ever been to the ocean and heard the pounding of the waves? When the waves are calm, it is a soothing sound, steady and relaxing. During a storm though the waves pound upon the shore, sweeping away anything in the path. The devastation from the hurricanes this year boggled my mind. I could not imagine the height of the waves that the weathermen were describing.

I thought this Psalm was so encouraging. Do you have storms pounding in on your life right now? Our Lord is mighty! He is in control of whatever you are facing. Go to Him for help and safety.
