Marriage Monday: Grace in Marriage

I didn't participate in last month's Marriage Monday but wanted to make sure I did this month. You can join us by visiting Overflowing Grace.

The topic is "Grace in Marriage." Grace is something we need to learn to accept and give and something receive from our Savior. In the area of marriage grace is vital. I think about my own marriage and how we've both had to show grace to one another.

I feel my husband is really good at extending grace; I'm so thankful for this! I think about situations when he showed grace and I wonder if the roles were reversed if I would have been graceful. I've really seen my husband grow in grace also, and he's been such a good example to me.

Something I've been thinking about lately is how it feels so easy to show grace to my husband yet to some people in certain relationships it is much harder for me to show grace. As I think of the grace we've received from the Lord, I know that grace is something I must show to others. Yet sometimes it is hard. This is an area for me to continue to grow.

"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." John 1:16, 17

Today's prayer for the election:
Pray for poll workers and election officials, for their safety, honesty and integrity

You are right...grace is very vital to marriages. I too have sometimes a hard time to show grace to others around me...I pray that He will help me to be better at it.

What a wonderful topic for Marriage Monday :)

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on it.

Be blessed today and always...

I know, for me, it is easier to show grace to my husband because I covenanted with him and God to do so. I am learning that I need to make that kind of commitment to others as well. Bless you for sharing.

I am currently reading Romans and the concept of God's extravagance towards us as sinners even though we are deserving of wrath.

It seems like the more difficult the person that God has placed in our lives, the more opportunity we've been given to be a vessel of God's extravagant grace. He brings greater glory to Himself the more difficult a situation is!

Whoever said Christianity is for wimps is clueless! If they think dying to self and loving the unlovely is easy, they're NUTS! Ha Ha!

These are some terrific thoughts... and the Good Lord knows, I can always use a lesson in using more grace.

Many blessings!

Just tonight my husband taped up a cord I ran over with the vaccuum and not once said what were you doing? I know I would have to him. Husbands are awesome, aren't they? Wonderful read!
