Finally to book thirty! I'm not really confident I'm going to make my goal of fifty this year!! Oh well!
While at my Mom's last week I had lots of nice reading time! I read most of this book Halos by Kristen Heitzmann while at her house. I have another one I'm nearly done with as well.
Halos begins as main character Alessi Moore arrives in the town of Charity on a snowy day. She feels seeing a halo as she enters the city is a good sign. However, as she is paying for her gas, her car is taken from her, which leaves her with absolutely nothing. She is a young girl, out on her own. She holds to the dear memories she has of her mother and those really guide and inspire her in the way she lives. Her missing car remains a mystery throughout the book.
Alessi is a character I really enjoyed. She had a good head and stood up for what she believed, even when she seemed to have zero support from anyone else. She made the town of Charity and the people there better, just by being herself.
I enjoyed reading this book. There was a pact that some of the characters referred to throughout the book that wasn't made clear until nearly the end so this part really held my interest too. It is not a series book though and I'd like to see the characters continue!
