Memory Verse Week 39

Last week's verse is one which I've been familiar with for a long time. I am reminded of this verse when I hear of someone abusing their body. I think it is a good reminder to us that we are to live holy lives for Christ. Do you want your physical house abused and destroyed? No, we'd be upset if that happened. In the same way we need to show respect and honor to our bodies since they are the "temple of the Holy Spirit." I think there are many ways to do that:

--Be conscientious of what we are putting into our temples. We need to be making good food choices. We need to make sure we are not polluting our mind with garbage from TV or music.

--Work to improve our temples. We can do this through physical exercise as well as "spiritual exercise" of prayer and Bible reading.

--Don't abuse our temples. We don't need to take things into our body that will harm us (like drugs and alcohol). Don't do things that will damage the temple.

--Be content with the temple God gave you. Yes we can work to improve the outside appearance, but I think we need to be careful not to get so carried away with this that we are never satisfied with how we look.

--Take pride in our temples. I think God desires us to be modest in our dress and actions.

Are you honoring God and the price He paid for you through the care you give to your temple? I think this is an area in which we can all improve (myself included).

This week's verse is II Corinthians 5:20--

"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."

A great list to be mindful of. Jesus paid a very high price...we should always be mindful of what we are doing with His purchase.

Beautiful post!!

May the Lord give you and Caleb peace while your beloved is away. I'll be praying for you!

I need last week's verse this week! I just feel like my body is falling apart here lately. I just can't seem to get well. I'm gonna print last week's verse out this week. I love this week's choice, of course, it's God-breathed.
