Happy 4th birthday!
I've been remembering this time four years ago when you were born. We were in the hospital room watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games. This year you are watching the Olympics and trying to copy what you see in the living room!
You make me so happy! I'm so thankful to be your Mommy and be able to stay home with you. This year has gone so very fast and even today you're already telling me "when I'm 5..." I need to get used to having a 4 year old first!!
This has been another good year full of memories for us. You amaze me with your imagination and all the details you remember. Everyone loves to hear you sing and is amazed to hear you sing "Fifty Nifty." You've continued to love books, and we go to the library each week for new books. We've gone on trips with Daddy a few times. You really loved San Antonio when we went in February and still talk about going back there. You are a good worker when we go to help at the food pantry and the people there look forward to seeing you. It was a wonderful experience for our family to go on the mission trip with our church group. I think you were a bright ray of sunshine to the people there.
I am so proud of you and your sweet, caring nature. You are such a loving boy and you make so many people smile just by being you....the ladies at the bank, the post office clerks, the workers at the food pantry, friends at church, and of course your family.
When you were born, we had the nurses put your footprints in our Bible that was used in our wedding ceremony. Your tiny little footprints are on the page in Numbers 14 with the story of Joshua and Caleb. The verse I like is Numbers 14:24--"But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it." I pray that you, Caleb, will be a servant of God and follow him wholeheartedly.
It has been fun celebrating you the past few days. I look forward to making the most of the upcoming year with you, my big 4 year old, as we enjoy one more year together at home before you start to school. I love you!
Love, Mommy

Happy Birthday, Caleb! Your Mommy and Daddy are doing a wonderful job of raising you up to be a mighty man of God.
Bethany, I LOVE the idea of the footprint in the Bible! I'm stashing that one away in my mind to share with new parents.
Blessings to you all.
