Happy birthday to our son!

We've had a day of fun with our birthday boy! Each year we've decorated our living room with balloons and streamers for Caleb's birthday party. His party has always been before his actual birthday. Since that wasn't the case this year and we had the party at Mr. Gatti's instead of the house, we decorated last night. We hung streamers and used some of the decorations from the party. It's always fun to do this and see what his expression would be. This morning Caleb told me he saw all those things with fire trucks in the dark. He'd walked to our bedroom last night so apparently that was when he saw them, or when I carried him back to his bed!

We went to breakfast first thing at the donut shop. We let him pick where he wants to go on his birthday family day. First stop was Home Depot. Then we went to Target for him to exchange a fire truck he got at his party since he already had it. He chose an ambulance instead. We also got him a big boy car seat since he is outgrowing the other one he has. Then we went for Daddy to get his allergy shot since we were on that side of town. Our next stop was Harbor Freight. I asked Caleb if he felt manly going to Harbor Freight. His answer: "Of course I do." It was so funny! Then we went to the library and for lunch at Chick Fil A. Daddy also go a haircut and Caleb thought it was grand to watch. We came home and he had his nap after he played with his ambulance for a while. He opened his gifts from us after nap. He chose hot dogs for supper and afterwards we sang to him and had his cupcakes (we made them together last night) and ice cream. Caleb wanted to go out to his sand box to try out his new excavator. He had a couple birthday calls as well and then ran through the sprinkler before coming in for his shower. I was in my shower and heard Daddy calling for me. Caleb had a tick on his back. This was a first. Daddy was able to pull it out and we saved it as the website he found recommended. I'll call the dr. tomorrow to see if we need to do anything else.

It's been a wonderful day (aside from that pesky tick)! I'm so thankful we got to enjoy it together as a family. Our boy is such a blessing! We can't believe he is a four year old now.
