Book #22: 7 Simple Steps...

I finally finished another book for my list. I have two others started and should be finishing one more of those soon.

This one is called 7 Steps to a Healthier You by Dawn Hall. My friend gave me this book a while back, and it has been in my pile of books I wanted to read.

As I was reading I marked a couple of things I wanted to share. The first one is that all of us are unique individuals. Sometimes we try to fit into a mold of what we are supposed to be and a plan of how we are supposed to get there. That mold might not be meant for us and the plan may not benefit us either. The author gave examples of various weight loss programs as an example and why many of them didn't work for her.

Another thing I marked was a line in one of the prayers at the end of a chapter. It says, " When I ignore my health, I am rejecting the miracle of me. When I don't think I am worth the effort, I am denying the potential You planted inside of me." This put caring about my health in a new perspective for me.

The final thing I wanted to share was in the chapter about getting spiritually fit. It says, "Pure contentment is born out of a peace that takes deep root within and cannot be disturbed by life's ups and downs. It is an ever-present, lasting force in a satisfied life." I loved this because it is always my desire to live a life of contentment.

This was a good read with short chapters and easy to follow format.
