1. Where do you get the verses?
At the end of last year when I decided to memorize a new verse every week, I started making a list of verses to memorize. They were verses either I heard or read myself. I have about 12 on the list now and keep adding to it as I find another I want to memorize. Some of them I wrote down were longer so I broke them up and added the second part to the end of the list to learn later. I knew I would get discouraged if it was too long and I couldn't memorize it during the week, so I thought breaking them into parts would work best.
2. Do you do your verse memorization with a group?
I just memorize them on my own. Some weeks my husband will memorize them though. At the end of the week I will write the new verse for the next week on a card. I have a spiral bound pack of 50 3 x 5 index cards. I like having them in one place so I can look back over verses from previous weeks and not have a bunch of pieces of paper in a bunch of different places. I've had this little pack of index cards for a L O N G time and never had a use for them.
This week's verse is I Peter 2:21--22. This is one of those that I shortened to two verses, and I'll do the other couple of verses another week.
"To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
