We had a family reunion on Saturday. It was a perfect day for being outside with a bright blue sky and a wonderful breeze blowing through the pavilion all day long. We were together when Peepaw died and hadn't been together for a long time before that. I remember thinking at the time that we need to get together at a happy time other than just for a funeral. My uncle reserved the pavilion for our use earlier this year. We had burgers and hot dogs for lunch and sausage and brisket for supper. Caleb sounds cute when he says "reunion." It actually sounds more like "ruin" with an extra syllable. He had fun playing with his cousins all day. When we were eating, he'd run up to the ice chest if he thought someone was about to get some ice. He also loved serving up "green beans" and plates of food to everyone. I hope we'll be able to get together more regularly in the future and make it a tradition. I know a lot of work went into getting all the food ready, which was greatly appreciated!
I just had to add this quote I found when looking for a quote for the end of the email! It made me laugh. Does that describe our family? I'll ask my husband. ;-)
"Families are like fudge - mostly sweet with a few nuts." ~Author Unknown
