Etsy shop

Since we've moved we have opened a new checking account. I had a big wallet that held my check book, license, debit card, library card, etc. I wanted just a check book cover though instead, something that wasn't so bulky. I looked on Etsy and found all sorts of vinyl covers. Then I found this shop, Cross Thread Embroidery, with quilted covers. I bought one along with a holder for my cards. The package came last Friday and I just love them! It was exactly what I wanted.

The shop owner was very nice to work with and answered my questions in a timely manner. Also, I appreciate the quality of the work. She also has a website with other items.

Just wanted to share with you all, these items would make a nice gift. Go look around at her shop!

Have a day of blessings!

Feeling blessed!

I can't help but feel blessed after we go to the grocery store. It seems each time we come back and I'm putting the food in the pantry and freezer, I just feel a full feeling of thankfulness in my heart. I am thankful we have money to buy food. When we were working on our budget at the beginning of the year, I really wasn't sure how much to allocate for groceries. When I think about it though, the amount we use actually covers several "extras" that aren't necessities.

As I'm putting away the items on already crowded shelves I can't help but think of the sacks passed out each week at the food pantry. I have become aware of just how little some people truly have to survive. This makes me more thankful for what we have, and I want to look for ways to share that with others. Also I hope to instill a "cheerful giver" attitude in Caleb.

We normally go to Walmart to do our grocery shopping, but I've been curious lately as to the price comparisons for products at HEB. We really don't have any other choices in grocery stores here! HEB is closer also so that will save some miles and gas. I was pleased with the sales I found. Some items I buy weekly cost a few cents more but most items were the same prices. I was happy to find some cheaper too (especially milk that we use so much!). I also found some good sales to go along with the coupons I had today.

Also, as I was putting away the groceries, I found a nice surprise.....the heart. Grocery day was a perfect day for it to be in the pantry! It brought a smile to my face. I thought it was a nice ending to a nice shopping trip.

Walmart trip and savings!

Today was our Walmart day. I had some coupons I'd printed from the Internet that I wanted to use. One in particular was rather exciting for me. (It doesn't take much to make me happy!) I found a $4.00 off coupon listed on another blog a few days ago. It is for Johnson's Melt Away Stress body lotion, massaging moisturizer, or body wash. I don't really feel that I have that much stress to melt away, but I figured I could try it for $4 off! My first thought when I saw the coupon was that the product probably cost $7 or $8. I found it in the cosmetics section after asking for some help when I couldn't find it in the section I where I thought it would be. And guess what....the body wash was only $3.97. I look forward to trying it tonight.

Another good deal we found today was packs of construction paper. It is the extra long sheets. I plan to cut them down for Caleb to use for pictures. They were marked down to $0.50 from $2.16. I got two packs of colored and one pack of manila.

Saturdays at home with my boys

I always look forward to Saturdays I can spend with my boys. Today started off rainy. We had breakfast at McDonalds, and then we stopped at the community market and several garage sales. I found a few things. One I was excited about was a set of 20 cards and envelopes for a quarter. I can never pass up stationary!

This afternoon I made cookies for the VBS refreshments. Both boys were trying to get some samples as I was cooking. I did make a few extras too!

Our VBS starts tomorrow evening. Caleb is excited about it and keeps asking everyday if it's the day for VBS.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
