Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What do birthdays look like in your house? How are they celebrated? Any special traditions? What about birthdays growing up?
For the boys we've always put up decorations of some sort for them to find on their birthday morning.  That usually includes some balloons and streamers.  We have birthday parties with friends and family.  We eat cake on the actual birthday as well.  The brothers like to try to beat each other at blowing out the candle the fastest....it's their little tradition.

Growing up I remember birthday parties at the park.  My cousin was born 2 days after me, 9 years apart, so we often had parties together.

2. Someone is sending you a dozen roses...what color are you hoping for? Are you someone who gets accused of seeing the world through rose colored glasses? Is your accuser correct? Elaborate.

How about pink!  My husband has gotten me some pretty ones of various colors through the years.
I don't think I would get accused of she world through rose colored glasses very often.

3. June 4th is National Cheese Day...will you celebrate? What's something (besides a burger) you make in the summer months that calls for cheese?

I don't plan to celebrate cheese day.  I do like cheese!  We had queso on Mexican fiesta we made for our river trip.  It's basically taco pile up.

4. 'tis the season...any weddings on your June calendar? What's the first word that comes to mind when I say marriage? We do not have any weddings to attend in June.  We did already celebrate our anniversary this month!  24 years.

The first word that comes to mind when I hear "marriage" is frienship.....because my husband is my best friend.  Other words:  cherish, committment, God's design, love.

5. What are you most looking forward to this June?

Getting boxes unpacked and getting rid of more stuff as we get more settled in our home.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We went on our annual trip down to the river last weekend.  It was nice to see the family and spend time together.

Have a day of blessings!

Visiting you today from the Hodgepodge (your link is just before mine). I really like your graphic in the column on the right about people just needing somebody to be kind to them today. Such truth!!

Is your annual trip rafting? That sounds like fun! As does a taco pile up : ) Hope you're settling in well!

The birthday parties at the park sound like fantastic fun.
That is a lovely word for marriage, you do have to be best friends with your significant other.
