I don't really have a desire to take a cruise at this point.
2. Tell us about your Thanksgiving plans...are you hosting? cooking? eating out? turkey or some other main? is it stuffing or dressing in your house? homemade cranberries or cranberries in a can? are pies on the dessert menu? what kind? what are your 'must have' sides? Tell us one thing you're especially grateful for this year.
We ate together with my husband's side of the family on Sunday. We had stuffed baked potatoes for that meal, and it was delicious.
Thursday we will go to my Mom's. Titus is over there helping her bake. I am taking the rolls which are thawing/rising now. We will have turkey and ham probably, dressing, cranberries in a can, lots of pies...pumpkin, pecan, usually apple too. I love sweet potatoes now and also broccoli rice casserole.
This year I am thankful for the many ways God provided for us after my husband left his job and all the growth we experienced from lessons learned during that time. It was a beautiful thing.
3. If someone approaches you and asks for money do you give it to them? Do you drop money 'in a tin cup' that belongs to a person on the street? Do you have a specific charity you support during the holiday season and/or year round?
I typically say no but it sometimes depends on the situation.
We give to Samaritan's Purse this time of year in honor of grandparents...the boys each pick a couple items to designate for each grandparent and we donate in their honor.
Year round we give to the backpack program at our school which gives bags of food to children in our schools to have over the weekend.
I want to add our local volunteer fire department to our donations since Caleb is part of that now. And also the non profit he started....he got it on Amazon Smiles this week.
4. Have you started decorating for Christmas? Is your tree up? Shopping done? Wrapped?
No I do not decorate for Christmas until the beginning of December. I have done some shopping though and bought more stuff online this week.
5. Create your own acrostic using the word THANKS.
T raditions
H ome
A nswered prayers
N o school this week
K indness of others
S miles and laughter
6. Insert your own random thought here.
One of the traditions we have is to make a picture of what we are thankful for....well it's mostly words and not a picture anymore. I guess I used to draw things when I was a little girl. I keep them in a notebook now so they are all together. Titus liked looking back at his previous years and how his writing has changed. We got to do ours this week which was special.

Sounds like your celebrating started early. We've had more than one Thanksgiving meal in the past because of when our kids could make it home. Supporting volunteer fire services is a win win! Enjoy your second Thanksgiving tomorrow.
I like the idea of keeping a record of what we're grateful for each year. I might start that with my grandkids. Enjoy your feast and your Thanksgiving day!
You all have enjoyed an extended Thanksgiving, what fun! We've had our lunch and everyone went home to nap and will return for an evening of games later.
