Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. July 6th is National Fried Chicken Day...are you a fan? Do you make your own or have a favorite place to buy from? Do you own chickens? If not chicken what's your favorite fried food?
Yes, I love fried chicken!  We used to have it frequently at church potlucks from KFC.  I have never made my own fried chicken. No I do not own chickens.

2.  What's something you're too chicken to try? The first thing that comes to mind is ziplining.  Titus said he'd want me to do that on his senior trip!

3. When did you last find yourself running around like a 'chicken with its head cut off'?  I definitely felt that way most of the month of May.  It felt like there was so many activities to do at the end of the year with our senior.  I was trying to enjoy it all and make the most of all the special moments.  It was a memorable time for sure.  We had graduation, then Project Graduation (all night party for the seniors), followed by a party with family for Caleb.  Then the next week we left for Alaska.

4. Something you've done recently that makes you think 'I'm no spring chicken'?

Staying up all night as a Project Graduation sponsor.  The kids were tired too by the end of the night, but the parents wore out much sooner.  It took me a couple days to feel normal again.

5. 'Winner winner chicken dinner'...tell us about something good that's happened in your life lately.

Question 2 made me think of kayaking as well.....being able to complete the kayaking adventure in Alaska was such a wonderful sense of accomplishment for me.  It was out of my comfort zone for sure but I'm so glad I finished.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We had a nice holiday weekend.  Saturday we had a nice lunch at my Mom's.  We had a nice get together with church friends on Sunday evening.  Titus had a great time playing with his friends on the blow up water slides.  Monday morning we went to a neighborhood parade followed by ice cream.  We didn't watch fireworks this year.  The local show was cancelled due to the burn ban and we decided not to go to the nearby one Sunday night.

We are praying for rain.  It is severely dry and we have lots of wild fires around here the past few months.

Have a day of blessings!

I was really afraid of ziplining too! We have a place that does it here over a lake and it's pretty tame but I did it first before going to Hawaii where we went 200 feet above a 200 foot waterfall! It was pretty crazy.

Oh the end of the year with kids in school is definitely a chicken with it's head cut off kind of scenario! I might be a chicken about zip lining too. I would do it but I would have a knot in my stomach the whole time.

Hooray for you and your kayaking adventure in Alaska. Sounds like a great place to do that. Graduation and all the activities is a marathon for sure! Congrats to your son!

Your page look so pretty. KFC has a very nice chicken sandwich. Ziplining looks like fun but definitely scary. Yes, senior year is definitely a busy time. Way to go on kayaking! Sounds like a nice weekend. Hopefully your rain will come. We could certainly us it.
