Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Is Halloween a big deal in your neighborhood? Was it something you celebrated as a child? With your own children? Do you like candy corn?

Our neighborhood is always very crowded with trick or treaters.
We lived out in the country and did not ever have trick or treaters.  Some years I would dress up and go to a church harvest party or stop at homes of family to trick or treat.
We do trunk or treat at our church now.  Our city as a big Halloween night downtown.  We went one year and it was just not for us.
Yes I do like candy corn! Caleb got some in his bag from his Little in football and I have been eating it.

2. Are you a scaredy cat? About what?

Yes!  I scare very easily!  My husband often walks in a room and scares me.

3. Last time you were somewhere that should have been busy but felt like a 'ghost town'?

I'm drawing a blank on this one.  I feel like malls are becoming a "ghost town" now.  Does anyone really shop in a mall anymore?

4. Do you like chili and if so how do you like it? Beans or no beans? Meat or no meat? Beef or chicken? Spice or no spice? Favorite toppings?

Yes I do like chili.  I don't make it or eat it often.  But I do like it.  I like it with beans and meat, preferably chicken.  I like a little spice but not overly spicy.  I can't handle that.  I like a little cheese or crackers with my chili.

5. Would you describe yourself as a night owl? What time of night qualifies? What are you doing while everyone else is asleep? Do you then 'sleep in'? Define 'sleeping in'.

Yes I think I've always been a night owl.  My husband sometimes has to make me go to bed.  I used to read and he'd have to turn the light off to make me put my book up.

I used to sleep in and looked forward to it.  Now it feels like I wake up and am wide awake.  Some Saturdays I try so hard to go back to sleep and my mind just spins!  It is annoying.  There are some Saturdays though that my husband will tell me to go back to bed and I will and I do go to sleep and sleep for a couple hours.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We got to have trunk or treat at our church on Sunday.  The couple that usually organizes the food were out of town so us on the fellowship committee did that. I went to Sams one day and bought chips because online it said they were out of stock.  Then I did a pick up order and it was picked up the next day with the hot dogs, drinks, etc.  We had a bunch of trunks and quite a few people came out.  I don't think it was as big of a crowd as it has been in the past.  We didn't have it last year so it was nice to get to have it again.

Have a day of blessings!

With Covid Halloween has been different. I've never been to one of those town trunk and treats. I think it started after my kids were grown. I'm not handing out candy this year but it has always been a favorite of mine. You know what, my husband does that too and I jump out of the skin. I tell him to make some noise!! I keep hearing about chicken chili yet I've never had any with chicken. Glad you got to go to the trunk and treat. Happy Halloween.
