Wednesday Hodgepodge
2. Where are you in your family birth order? Do you fit the stereotype of that particular slot? In what way?
I'm an only child. Yes I fit the sterotype in many ways....leader, high achieiver, perfectionist, mature.
My husband is a first born. Our sons are 10 yeras apart so it's interesting how they both have very strong first born/only characteristics.
Growing up I remember the common comment about onlies being spoiled. My Mom would say not spoiled...love...you throw away things that are spoiled....
I enjoy learning about birth order. It's very interesting. I saw this graphic and thought I'd share.
3. What motivates you more-a reward or a consequence? Elaborate.
Fitting with my birth order I'd say a consequence motivates me more. I want to be someone others can count on and do things right. I don't want to mess up or let anyone down.
4. May 14th is National Buttermilk Biscuit Day. Who thinks biscuits deserve their own day? Do you like biscuits? Make your own? Grab one for breakfast at a drive-through now and then? Which drive-through makes the one you like best? What do you like to put on a biscuit? What's your favorite food or dish that calls for buttermilk?
I do like fresh warm biscuits with a little jelly. I do not eat them often. I like Chick fil a's biscuits....it's been a long time since I've had one of those!
My favorite is when my husband makes biscuits and chocolate on Christmas morning. It's a family tradition.
I don't use buttermilk very often in any recipes. Sometimes cakes will have that as an ingredient.
5. Are there any weddings on your summer calendar? What's your favorite part of a wedding/wedding reception?
We had a wedding already in May! It was beautiful and special, and I'm still processing all the things! I have a daughter in love now! I don't post pictures of us on the blog so I'll just have to do some without people!
Venue was where we had the rehearsal dinner as well. This was as we were finishing the setup....Titus was taking pictures. I didn't know he'd taken some of these!
A very special moment was during the ceremony when they branded a cow hide with their intials. The bride's mom told me right before the ceremony that she'd just found out we were going to go up with them too when they did this. The wedding was planned for outdoors but moved in because of ALL the rain. The grass was a soggy mess. They weren't sure they'd get to do the branding inside, but the venue owner said yes and brought tin/wood to do it on so the floor wouldn't be damaged. We watched them do the brand and held hands, formed a circle, and the Dads prayed over them. It was so special to be part of this.
Another special thing they did was have guests put their initials with brands on a coffee table that Caleb made. This was at the rehearsal dinner when we tested it out. The middle is the Circle P. He is going to stain it. There are more on it after the wedding and some on the bottom part too.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
School is winding down for Titus. He gets out next Thursday. Baseball ended last night. I was so proud of my 2nd baseman....in one inning he made all three outs...one he got the ball and threw to third and the next two he had the ball and threw to first. Fun memories!
