Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What's a lesson you've learned from a mistake?
It's a long story, but one day when I was going to pick up Titus from school I hit a tree in our yard.   A dog from the neighborhood was in our yard, I was going to take him home.  In the process I was backed up farther than normal I guess and scraped the side door of my van on the tree.  It did a lot of damage.  I called my husband crying, he thought I'd run over the dog.  He was very sweet and calming.  We got it fixed.  I just feel it was a waste of money for me to do that

2. Do you salt food while you're cooking or let diners add their own?  What's a food you think must be salted? Do you like pepper?

I put a small amount of salt in while I'm cooking some things.  My husband adds more depending on what it is.

French fries must be salted!

I like pepper.  When we go to Schlotzky's the boys like to get cracked pepper chips and I like them now too.

3. What was the last gathering you attended and what did you do there?

On Sunday we had a lunch after church with the elders and wives.  We had sandwiches, chips and dessert and prayed together over needs of our families and church.

4. Your favorite shade of purple? What's your favorite purple flower?

Purple is my favorite color!  I love all shades of purple.  For our son's wedding I wore a lilac dress.  It was so much more beautiful in person than the picture on the website.  It is the one I kept coming back to even though I thought I would want to buy one in person (not online).

I love purple tulips!

5. Share a favorite spring travel memory.

For a few years we went to the state park or river with the RV for a few days of spring break.  It's also my husband's birthday in that week.  It's a nice relaxing way to be together and get away a few days.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We had a change of plans with our move. The electrician made a mistake in the plug he put up for our RV camper last Thursday.  On Friday when my husband plugged it in, the TV started smoking and nothing worked. We were going to stay there in the camper this week, but instead have stayed in our home that’s mostly empty. It has all worked out, and they are making great progress on the house.   Oh and the electrician/company came back to fix the camper.

This is Titus’ room color he picked, and the gray for the rest of the house.

Have a day of blessings! Bethany

Hi Bethany, Those are nice colors for your home. I'm glad the electric issue in the camper is going to be fixed. Your lilac dress sounds beautiful. How nice for your husband to have that reaction to your accident. Happy Hodgepodge to you!

Oh wow, that sounds scary to have the TV smoking!! sorry about that, but glad everyone is okay. Titus picked a great color for his room! Hope you're having a great week!

Oops to scraping the door of your van. At least the dog was OK.
Oh yes! Salt on French fries are a must!
Purple is my favourite colour too.
Good luck with the move and how scary to have the TV smoking. I am glad things have been fixed.

I'm glad you caught the electrical error before it became too serious. The bright blue is a fun color for a boy's room. I'm sure you're ready to be done, and hope you're settled in there soon.

That's a sad story about hitting the tree. I don't think I've tried those chips. That was a lovely gathering you attended. I like that purple is your favorite color. That's a nice travel memory. Well that was a terrible mistake for them to make. Sorry about that. I like the way Titus did his room. Take care.

I love tulip bouquets in the winter and I had quite a few purple ones this year. Now I have a bouquet I made at a flower workshop this morning and the purple flowers are featured quite heavily, but no purple tulips.
