Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. Something you're working on currently?
I made a list of areas in the home that I want to clean out and declutter.  I listed it by room and was very specific in my list.  So my list doesn't say "clean the closet"....it helps motivate me to have it broken down into smaller pieces because it is more doable.  If I think I don't have time to clean the closet today, I won't do anything.  But if I think I am going to clean off the top shelf of the closet I do have time to do that.  Then I get going and usually do a little more.
I like lists and marking things off the list as it is completed!  It will be a slow process to go through the house, but I'm already seeing progress which motivates me to keep going!

2. Tell us something about your first job? Was it a positive or negative experience for you? Did your parents insist you work while in school (either high school or college) or did you work because you wanted to?
My first "real" job was working in the education department at ACU.  It was a positive experience.  I was an education major and loved being in the department.  I formed some lasting relationships with the professors and others who worked in the department.

I never worked in high school besides baby sitting at an aerobics class.  Then in college I did more babysitting also.

3. Have you ever had a job that required overnight travel? How did you feel about that? Have you ever had a job that required you to wear a uniform? Do you work better in the morning or at night?

No I haven't had a job that requires overnight travel.  I've gotten to go on many trips with my husband for his job though.  And now that I'm on the school board we do have training in the summer that is overnight.

I don't guess I have had a job that requires a uniform.

I work better in the evening.  I'm a night owl.

4. What's something you bake or cook that is labor intensive? Is it worth it?

Porcupine meatballs comes to mind that is more steps and takes longer than most meals I make.  But we all enjoy it and it is good so I like to do it!  This is the recipe.  Titus helepd me make them this supper.

5. One thing you're looking forward to in the month of September?

Along with the cooler temperatures we are looking forward to the fair.  I dropped off our items in the creative arts division yesterday.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

It has been raining here this week.  Monday (Labor Day) was a nice day to be home together.  Titus built a fort in the living room.  It has been a very slow gentle rain for two days.  I heard more rain this morning as well.  It's been a long time since we've had rain like this.

Have a day of blessings!

I looked at the porcupine meatball recipe as I was intrigued by the name. Sounds good, but you are right meatballs are time consuming in the prep. I make a meatball recipe from Nigella Lawson that's also very good. She serves hers over rice, but I put mine in my spaghetti sauce. Have a great day! We need rain, but I'm glad we haven't had it this week as we have a big outdoor project happening that they're trying to wrap up and rain would really slow things down.

I am working on decluttering too. Porcupine meatballs sound interesting. Your blog decor is really cute, but my weak eyes have a hard time with the font. I increased the web to a greater percentage to read it. I am a night owl too. We sure need rain. It will be 108 by Friday.

Good for you. I need to make a list! Sounds like a nice first job and how nice that you did babysitting. I don't remember babysitting anyone. My best friend from High School used to make those balls. Enjoy the fair. Sounds like a pleasant 4th of July.

I enjoyed your answers. I'm late to commenting. those meatballs sound good. I like your idea for making a list by room of what needs to be done.
