Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. This week's Hodgepodge lands on St. Patrick's Day. Will you wear green? Eat corned beef and cabbage? Drink green beer? Have you ever been to Ireland? Is it on your travel 'bucket list'? I did ask Titus if he wanted to wear green today and he had a green shirt.  Caleb remembered too.  I don't have special plans for St. Patrick's Day.  I did leave a green shamrock note in the boys' lunches today though and one on hubby's mirror.  I saw them at the library yesterday as a "make and take" craft and picked them up.

I've never been to Ireland and really have never thought about wanting to go.

2. Something you think is 'worth its weight in gold'?
There are so many things that would be a good answer to this question but one I have thought about this week is being able to meet in person for church.  We still have safety precautions in place.  We started attending class again and had a game night during spring break.  It made me realize how much all four of us have missed being together with our church family.  That is one lesson of the past year for me.

3. Something that makes you 'green around the gills'?

What came to mind was the smell at the front of a local Wendy's.  We avoid going there because it is just such a gross smell at the front where you place your order.

4. What puts a 'spring in your step' these days?

I'm running for school board and am grateful for the support I have received so far.  It has been encouraging and exciting to me.  When I hear people ask questions or comment on my running, it motivates me to work to get my name out to more people.

5. Write a limerick using one of the following as your theme....March, St. Patrick's Day, Covid, 2020 and/or 2021, the color green, or life lately. Yes, you can do it.

I almost didn't participate today because of this but thought I can try!  LOL

They say it's day to wear green
Make sure it is plainly seen.
You might get a pinch....
Or are you the Grinch?
Wear green and don't be mean!

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Last week was our spring break.  We took a little trip to the state park for 3 nights with our camper.  It was a nice little getaway.  This is a sunset picture Caleb took outside our camper.

Now that I got this finished I have a couple book reviews to write and post.

Have a day of blessings!

  7. I enjoyed your limerick. Nice that you are running for the school board. We use to camp when our kids were young. We are making our way back to church slowly. Glad that we still have to wear mask as we are seniors.

Great job on the limerick, too.
I agree that being able to be with family, friends, and church family in person is priceless!

  9. Good luck with your school board election. It's so hard to get people to run these days, so good for you for stepping up. I'm envious of your camping trip... we still have snow! Our camper sat all last year and it made me sad. It's new to us and we only took a couple of short trips before COVID settled in. We're planning to big trips this year... Maine and Missouri.
