Grace Unplugged (audio book)

I'd seen a short preview of the "Grace Unplugged" movie and looked forward to the audio book version.

In this book by Melody Carlson, Grace lives with her parents and plays and sings at their church. Her Dad had a hit song called "Misunderstood" years ago, but he left the music world after that one hit. They have shared their love of music through the years and now Grace is hurt and confused when her Dad doesn't seem to understand her style and music preferences.  Grace considers her Dad to be way too overprotective and unrealistic in his expectations of her and her music.  She wants to make her own way and live her own life and chase her dreams.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The characters were believable in how the responded to each other and interacted. There is plenty of parent-child conflict and also conflict between Grace and her friends because of her choices.  Grace's character and heart changes through the story, and it is interesting the other characters that are used to influence her in this process.  I think this positive message is one that can really touch lives and is one that this generation need to hear.

This audio was read by Nora Hunter, and she was great for this book. She did a good job changing voices between the characters, and I enjoyed listening to her voice.
I received this audio book from christianaudio Reviewers Program for my honest review.
Have a day of blessings!

Sounds interesting. I saw that it was at the show but didn't know anything about it!
