Kindness matters!

In a world where many people are grumpy, irritable, and impatient, it is nice to run into someone who shows a little bit of kindness.

I was recently reminded of the value of being kind to others.  As I closed my trunk after loading up my groceries, I turned to take my cart back to the cart holder.  At that moment a random stranger said he would take my cart for me as he was pushing his own the same direction.  This happened to me at a previous shopping trip as well.  A lady was walking by and told me she'd take my cart for me.  I had forgotten about the incident until the same thing happened again this week.

It reminded me how nice it is to have someone do something unexpectedly for you.  It would not have hurt me to walk the extra steps to put my cart away.  But to have someone come along and do this task for me just made me smile.  It made me think about ways I can show kindness to others in my life.  Kindness does not have to cost anything.  There are many ways that you can bless someone's day.

What kind things can you personally do this weekend for someone else? I posted this on Facebook this week and was so touched by the variety of answers left by friends.

Kindness matters!

Have a day of blessings!

Actions like that really do make a difference, don't they? It helps to remind me to do the same. Wouldn't it be nice if such action were the commonplace thing rather than the unusual?!

One of the local grocery stores has a cookware offer where you get stamps and once you acquire a certain number of them you can get different cookware pieces! As I was leaving the store one evening a gentleman in a wheelchair approached me! I was ashamed, thinking he was going to ask for money, when he asked if I saved those stamps! I was overjoyed to receive his two stamps! I thought it was a sweet story to share! I said a silent prayer for him and hope he received many blessings as a result of his kind heart! Simple acts of kindness make a persons days! Thanks for sharing with us today!

Yes, it brightens our day to have someone do something like that. I saw a busy bank manager walk an elderly person out and hold the heavy door for him yesterday. It warms your heart. I am always blessed by visiting your blog. Have a great weekend and HAPPY FALL!

It does feel amazing good to experience this kind of kindness from others. And it takes so little from us to give it back to others. I pray for some opportunities to do that this week.
Blessings.

So true. We never know how a little kindness can brighten another person's day. I've had the shopping cart thing happen to me too. It's always a nice surprise. We need to remember to look for little things we can do to cheer someone's life.
Blessings,
Charlotte
