Proverbs & Prayers Week #20

Myspace Comments

Hello and welcome to my little blog. I'm glad you are here today. I pray you are having a beautiful weekend. The weather here has been so nice and I've enjoyed the time with my boys.

This week's verse is Romans 13:12--
"The night is nearly over, the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light."

This passage got me thinking about the difference in darkness and light. Verse 13 goes on to list things to avoid in the darkness ("not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy"). Instead we are to be clothed with light and Jesus. If you are doing something that is sin that you know you really shouldn't be doing, you don't go stand on the sidewalk in the bright sunshine and make it known to your neighbors. You hide in your home. It is easier to do these things in darkness when we think no one will see and no one is going to find out. As Christians, we need to "put on" light.

For a prayer request this week I'd like to have for wisdom and peace for a special situation regarding me and my hubby. Thank you.

Join us for Spiritual Sundays. Thanks for visiting.

Have a day of blessings!

What a wonderful message. I always think of the things that scatter when the light comes on. Certainly not what I want for my life to represent. My desire is for the spirit of God to shine through me in everything I do. Have a blessed week.
