Thankful Thursday

Myspace Comments

Today we are at Women Taking a Stand for Thankful Thursday. I hope you're enjoying the holiday season!

I'm so thankful for this wonderful season. It is a fun time of year for me and my family. This year I've been reminded though that it isn't necessarily a happy, merry time for everyone, especially those who are missing a loved one. I wrote about this yesterday in my article for Laced With Grace. As you may remember my husband's Mammaw passed away in March of this year. Christmas Eve is her birthday as well as my mother-in-law's. Also I'm remembering our friends whose four year old son died this year. There are many others facing their first Christmas without someone special. Don't forget to acknowledge those who have lost loved ones in 2009 as they are hurting during the holidays.

Today I'm thankful for...
~ my husband having vacation time to take off work this week. I enjoy having him with us, and we were able to go to my cousin's graduation and stay a few days at my Mom's house.

~ my sweet boy and the fun we have together during the holidays. I'm so glad we will have next week together and get to have "Mommy & Caleb" days at home together. I'm going to plan it so we can just be home and enjoy it for a few days instead of running errands or being gone.

~ the REASON for the season.

~ pictures and Christmas cards in the mail.

~ seeing family members.

It is so easy to get wrapped in what is going on in our world and country right now. We heard on TV the other night (on Huckabee I believe) to not let the health care bill or anything else cause you to forget the true meaning of the season.

Merry Christmas to you from me!

Have a day of blessings!

A WONDERFUL list of thanks...I LOVED what I use to call "mommy and me" days too. Want to know something funny? My GROWN kids will every once in a while STILL call me up and say, "Mom, I need a Mommy and Me Day." And then we will make arrangements to somehow spend some quality time together just the two of us (whichever kid it may be, and they have ALL done it) Just wanted you to know that you are making lifetime memories more than you might think. Merry Christmas to you and your family and a New Year full of His abundant love and blessings. Hugs, Debbie

Tonight is Christmas Eve, & I'll bet Caleb is SO excited! This truly is a special time, as we celebrate Christ's birth.
Wishing you much love and blessings now, and in the coming year!
