I was looking forward to reading A Gift of Grace by author Amy Clipston. I was not disappointed and enjoyed this new author.
Rebecca and her husband Daniel are part of an Old Order Amish community. Their lives are changed when Rebecca's sister Grace and her husband die in an auto accident. Grace, who had left the Amish community when she was younger, leaves custody of their two teen age daughters to Rebecca. It is quite an adjustment for Rebecca and Daniel to have Jessica and Lindsay move in. Lindsay enjoys learning about the community and Amish way of life while Jessica feels out of place and just wants to go home. Rebecca feels strongly that it is God’s will for her nieces to live with her so she can be a mother since she is unable to have children of her own. Daniel and other members of the community are critical of Jessica as she makes some mistakes, making her feel unwelcome. Will Rebecca be able to convince Daniel that the girls belong with them or show Jessica that she is loved and welcomed as she grieves the loss of her parents?
I recommend this book and eagerly look forward to book two of this series. This book can be purchased online from Zondervan or Barnes & Noble.
