As long as it is called Today: Christian women/men (April)

Welcome to a new month of As long as it is called Today after a break during the month of March. Our focus on the first week of the month is to encourage one another as Christian women/men. I hope you will join me each week on Friday as we encourage each other in our daily lives as Christians, spouses, parents, and home keepers.

Today's question: Do you have a special verse that is your life verse? Share that verse.

My answer: My life verse has always been Matthew 5:16--"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."

Thank you for joining us today! Please leave your answer in the comment section and come back next week for a new question and to read the answers left by others.

Have a wonderful day!

My life verse would definitely have to be this one:
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Many times in my life I have clung to this promise. When things were not easy, I would remember to hang on - knowing that someday God would reveal His purpose for the trial. As I have looked back over my life, I am amazed at how true this simple passage has been. My life - although many times it has not been an easy one, has been an incredible journey. God had led the way and richly blessed me through every trial.

He is so faithful! To God be the glory!
Blessings to you,
Kymber

I dont.

I have never been able to find that ONE verse that I turn too... there are so many I wouldn't know where to begin.

One verse that I have enjoyed as of late is
Philippians 1:9-11
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteouseness that comes through Jesus Christ-to the glory and praise of God."

Blessigns to you!

Kymber and I have the same verse--Romans 8:28. There's not enough space for me to tell you why. But this verse has not only spoke to my heart over and over again through the years but I used it many times in my ministry with others. Many years ago, my college roommate sent me a beautiful bowl he had made especially for me with this scripture engraved around the top.

I would have to say that over the years my life verse has changed with the seasons of my life. One might stay with me for a dozen years or more. Then the Lord brings a new one to become the banner over me. For the past 12 years there have actually been four verses that have been life verses for me.
The first one is the verse He gave hubby and I when He confirmed in our hearts we were to move from the comfort zone and into a ministry field that is difficult here stateside: Psalm 37:3 - "Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness." (NASB)
The second is the verse He gave to me as my calling into the ministry I have with abused women and at risk children and teen girls - Isaiah 61:1 - "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners."
The 3rd verse has been my life verse in regards to my personal quest for personal revival ~
Isaiah 57:15 "For thus says the high and exalted One Who lives forever, whose name is Holy, 'I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.'"
The 4th has been our marriage life verse for 35 years tomorrow! Psalm 34:3 ` "O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together."

For quite some time now my life verse has been:

Psalm 91 - He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God, in whom I Trust." If you make the Most High your Dwelling - even the Lord, who is my Refuge, then No Harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you to Guard you in All Your Ways.

I rest in this and have for quite a long, long time.

Blessings,
Alleluiabelle

Not surprisingly, my verse is the same as yours!
Matthew 5:16--"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
For the most part, I have always had the inner prayer that no matter where I am, what I am doing or what the circumstance, that I would be a "light".

And He [Jesus} said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ Luke 24:46-47
I hear people say that Jesus was just a prophet, just a good example for us to follow, but He is much more: Only through trusting in Him can we be forgiven.
