Update on Mammaw (Monday night)

We've been at the hospital again today. We were able to rest and arrived at the hospital around 11 this morning after a couple errands we needed to do before leaving town.

Mammaw is steadily declining. The hospice doctor told the family this afternoon he would expect her to pass away in the next 24 hours. An encouraging thing was during the conversation something was said and he said oh, is she a Christian? We said oh yes. He said I am also. That takes a little of the sting out because you know it isn't a good bye but a see you later. What a blessing!

Caleb was a big boy again today. I took him downstairs to a little couch in a lobby area for him to rest yesterday and today he marched over to it ready to nap when we got off the elevator. He has cheered so many people. I've really been watching him and it blesses me too to see the smiles he brings to the faces of all those around him if they know him or not. I have some precious Caleb stories I may share as well from this experience.

Let me say thank you to those of you who have encouraged us with your messages here and your prayers for our family. I have missed reading your blogs and being encouraged by you, but you've come here and encouraged us. Thank you.

You are taking this so well.... It is a different"home-going" when it is a Christian loved one... There is joy in your sorrow. God bless you dear friend....

I continue to pray for you all as you watch Mammaw leave her earthsuit and enter the presence of her heavenly home.

Keep it up, Caleb! You're doing great!

I'm praying the Lord will be with you and your Mom during these hours. Praying the Lord will take her gently and peacefully Home. When my Mom went to be with the Lord, the chorus of this song was very special to me.
"Just think of stepping on shore,
And finding it Heaven;
Of touching a hand,
And finding it God's;
Of breathing new air,
And finding it Celestial;
Of waking up in Glory,
And finding it Home.

You'll all be in my prayers. Such a little man your son is right now. You must be so proud of him.
Blessings.

Oh, I'm so glad the Lord led me here! We have lost 4 close family members in the last 3 years, and all of them have included a great deal of suffering. I will be praying for you and your family. It is such a blessing to see you counting the praises amidst the clouds. Much love in Christ,
LauraLee
