Proverbs & Prayers: Week #7

I memorized the verse from last week but did not have it shortened for Caleb to memorize. I looked up some other translations to find different words from "judgment and discernment," but never got around to writing it or going over it with him. Proverbs 3:21 (last week's verse) is a good piece of advice for us all. Do you use "sound judgment and discernment" in all your dealings? If we are going to have sound judgment, we will not be hasty in our choices. We will take time to pray about choices before us and consider our options before jumping into something, whether that is an expensive purchase or a new job or ministry. We are to not let ourselves be distracted by things that cause us to lose our sound judgment and discernment.

This week's verse is found in Proverbs 4:13:

"Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life."

Do you have any prayer requests you'd like to share this week?

Something that has been really big on my heart lately is friends who are looking for jobs. There are several that I know personally looking for employment. I will lift up these friends in prayer this week.

For Caleb, the Living Bible says in Prov 3:21 "Have two goals: wisdom - that is knowing and doing right - and common sense. Don't let them slip away."
Good verses.

One of the ways we can have sound judgment and discernment is through hiding God's Word in our heart. The more His Word becomes a part of us, the more we experience clarity as the Holy Spirit brings a particular verse (or passage)to our mind at just the right time.
It's so good that this is a priority with you as you raise your son!
Blessings, Susan
