On this Thursday after the election it is a good thing to stop and give thanks. We are blessed in this country. I know many people are unhappy with how the election turned out but still we know God is the One in control. We have our Hope in HIM, not in a person. A person is not going to have all the answers to solve the problems of the world. We have to trust God even when we don't understand. I think this election is a good lesson for that.
Today I'm thankful for. . .
* my husband showing grace. I was really thinking about this week after Marriage Monday. He is really good at this and I'm thankful for that!
* my sweet son saying sweet prayers. We've been doing a new prayer at bedtime using the ACTS "method." (Adoration Confession Thanksgiving Supplication) He knows the words now and what they mean. I wrote them on a piece of paper and an example of a start of a prayer for each area. One night this week the Bible story was a Psalm talking about the sheep. I told him it made me think of a song. I know Caleb doesn't like this song because it says "when the lion comes, he is my victory, constantly watching over me." Daddy told him what it meant. Then in his prayer Caleb said, "Thank you because you jump over the lion and you are the winner." It made me smile!
* having the privilege to vote. So many in the world do not have this freedom.
* our home and the warmth and safety it provides.
* the beginning of November. I love this time of year and am really looking forward to the holidays.
Thank you to Iris for hosting Thankful Thursday today and thank you for stopping by! I hope you'll come back to visit.

Your love for God is shining bright my friend.
This is a great thankful post. Teaching your son about God is awesome. I love the ACTS method too. I also want to thank you for alerting me to the challenge of writing down something we're thankful for every day during the month of November. I accepted the challenge!
What a beautiful post, Caleb is such a bright young man. I love to hear your stories about Caleb I can just see your smiles through your writing. Children are a gift and blessing from our Lord & Saviour enjoy every minute. Have a terrific weekend!!!

Beautiful post. It warmed my heart! Happy Thankful Thursday!
Very encouraging post. It is comforting to remember that our Hope is in God and we are to continue to trust even when we don't understand. Thank God for providing you with such a wonderful family. May He bless your family always. Thanks for telling me about your friend who does Fphoto Friday. I will visit her blog. Take care!
How cute what your son said. I remember when my son was little every night when he said his prayers he prayed for all the animals and mammals in the world. He loved animals. We have so much to be thankful for even with the disappointment this week.
Blessings & Hugs,
Charlotte
