Our weekend

We had a busy weekend (and apparently a busy week since it's Tuesday and I'm just now writing about last weekend). Friday night we went to see my brother-in-law for his 16th birthday. He had some friends and family over for hot dogs, cake and ice cream. It is weird to think of him as old enough to drive because he was just going into kindergarten when I met him.

We drove to my Mom's after that and Saturday morning went to the local rodeo parade. We met my aunt and cousin there. Thankfully, it wasn't scorching hot that morning. This clown made us all laugh!

After the parade we went to my aunt's office. She gave Caleb a game she created for him. When she was at our garage sale, she learned about the game Caleb made up one time at my Mom's office. It is called "two one two one." You get a bunch of hole punched dots collected in an ice cream scoop and then pull the handle to make them pop all over everywhere! Caleb gets such a kick out of this. My aunt made him his own version complete with hole punch and ice cream scoop. Caleb was about as happy to clean up the dots with the vacuum as he'd been to play the game. He didn't want to quit vacuuming. After that Caleb went home with Gramma for his nap and JMP and I went birthday shopping. We didn't have much success, but I have a couple more things I am going to look for here over the weekend or possibly online. In the evening my Mom fixed us supper on the grill, and Meemaw came to eat with us. It was a long day for us. Sunday morning we went to church, ate lunch, and headed home.

When we got home we had a mess on the kitchen floor. I saw it first and quickly discovered the freezer door on the refrigerator had been left slightly cracked open all weekend while we were away. The mess on the floor was the juice from the melted bag of apricots I'd cut up for a pie. Nice and sticky! JMP helped me clear out the freezer. He was really sweet about it too. :) (I think I could write my whole Thankful Thursday post this week about his sweetness!) We got it cleaned up as quickly as we could, changed, and headed to eat before going to the first night of VBS at our church.
Also, a few weeks ago I tried to make a signature for my postings with my name. I figure most people that read this know my name anyway. I like all the cute signatures I've seen on other blogs I read so I copied. :) I'm not sure which signature image I like best so I will be testing them and changing it till I get the one I like.

I love how you end each entry with a Bible verse...that is such a wonderful way to honor our Lord and learn more about His Word!

Have a great rest of your week...sans your apricots of course. ;)

God bless-
Amanda

Love your signature! What did you end up using for it?

Other than the freezer incident, it sounds like it was a fun week-end.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and I'm glad you enjoyed your visit. Feel free to join in the fun in October for the bread roundup. All are welcome!

Thanks for sharing about your weekend! Sounds like you guys (especially Mr. C) had a wonderful time! Glad it wasn't too hot too! That stinks about the freezer. We've done that too...ugg!
