Friday Favorites: Songs about Kids #4

For my last Friday Favorite of June's theme of songs about kids I've picked one called "Thank God for Kids." This is an old song. There are multiple versions on You Tube and here are the lyrics.

I remember always hearing this song when we would watch the West Texas Rehab Telethon on TV. This one man (of course I don't know his name) sang it every year.

I like the line "Do you ever stop to think or wonder why The nearest thing to heaven is a child." In the Bible we read many stories when Jesus wanted the children to be near Him and He used children as examples as He taught. Matthew 18:4 says, " Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Jesus told us many childlike qualities we are to have.

Thank you God for giving us children and teaching us so much through them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." Ephesians 6:1-4
