Friday Favorites: Songs about Kids #3

It's already Friday! This week has gone quickly for me.

Today for my Friday Favorites is a song called "Let Them Be Little."

I used this song on one of Caleb's birthday picture slide shows. When I hear this song, I'm reminded how quickly childhood passes. We have to make the most of every day because as I am seening now, before we know it our little newborn will be a nearly four year old! While we have the opportunity, we need to give our children our time, our love, our attention. If we make these efforts when they are young, I believe we will see the benefits of those times spent together when they are older.

Another thing I think about when I hear this song is how as parents we need to let our children be kids. We don't need to rush them into growing up, we need to enjoy the time we have with them when they are little. It seems too often today I see parents who get upset when their children do something that is just something a child would do....something not necessarily bad but something that aggravates the parents so the parent will discipline the child about it. I think sometimes we need to just relax and accept the things our children do because of their innocence and curiosity and not try to change them.
