It's so nice to be home! We are unpacked and two loads of clothes are washed and hanging out to dry. My sweet husband helped hang them this afternoon. We had a nice trip. When we got home, he said we had gone 795 miles. Whew!!
We left home Wednesday afternoon and stopped for the night at my Mom's house. We left Thursday morning in time to stop for lunch in Abilene and then continued on our way to Lubbock. We visited with my BIL for a while and then went to my Dad's, where we were staying. Friday morning we attended a convocation and lunch reception. Then Saturday morning we attended the actual graduation ceremony. Both ceremonies seemed to just go on and on (they were about 2 hours a piece I think). We were glad we were there though to support my BIL at this great achievement in his life. He still has some clinical work to do but then he'll be an occupational therapist. He has worked hard to achieve this goal and we're proud of him! Saturday after nap we went back to help my BIL and SIL load their moving van. Sunday morning we went to church with my Dad and headed back towards home after lunch. We stayed another night at my Mom's and came home this morning.
Caleb did great on the trip. He is still not caught up on his sleep, but we can work on that this week.
The temperatures were cooler than I had expected when I packed. I'd put in mostly shorts for Caleb and myself. My Dad said he'd throw a pair of Caleb's jeans in the wash with his clothes in case he needed a clean pair. Saturday when we got back from graduation, he'd done our whole sack of dirty clothes. It was a very nice surprise and saved us time of doing them today!
I had a couple of funny observations about graduation ceremonies too. First, why do women wear high heels to events that will require lots of walking? I have never understood this! I am not a very fashion conscious person so I go for comfortable more than cute. Looking cute is fine, but I cannot stand it to hear complaints about how you're feet are hurting! I did not pick the shoes, you did! Another thing is the lack of modesty. I don't know how many strapless and/or low cut dresses I saw. I have never understood why women choose to wear revealing clothing. I saw a lot of that this weekend; it always bugs me. I guess because I wonder why they wear what they wear....is it because they like it and it's cute (which many of the dresses do have cute designs/patterns/colors)? is it because they are seeking attention of males? is it because they want to show off their bodies?
Caleb told Daddy Saturday night that when he graduates there will only be two "graduaters." I asked him if that was so it wouldn't take so long! Pretty good logic there to cut down on the time of the ceremony. I told him probably the next time we attend graduations will be in a couple years when we see Chel at college, Cody at high school, and Caleb from Kindergarten.
We're all happy to be home. My husband will be back to work tomorrow and we'll be back on our regular routine here. We'll also be getting ready for our mission trip that is coming up in a few weeks. I'll write more about that another day. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Welcome back!
Graduations are painfully long. Joel says it's because they need to make it serious- mark the occasion. I guess that makes sense.
At my brother's we were out in the hot sun. I had to go find shade because it was just too hot for me. I did actually see him cross the stage though, so that was good.
