Thankful Thursday

Since we are going out of town I am doing my Thankful Thursday early this week and making it a scheduled post! I hope you are having a blessed week. Thank you for stopping by my blog. As always to read more TT posts and be encouraged, visit Iris at Sting My Heart.

Today I am thankful for...

*having my husband's hand to hold at night as we drift off to sleep. This gives me great comfort. I noticed it this week and wanted to remember to be thankful for that.

*hearing sincere apologies from my little son. This week he was playing and got my new exercise band wrapped up in his tricycle tire. I wasn't upset about it, but as I sat down to remove it, he said I'm sorry. It was really sweet and I knew he cared about what he had done.

*celebrating Mother's Day. I loved the sweet cards from both of my boys (Caleb and Daddy!). They surprised me with new plants for the yard, roses, and a new laundry basket. I had fun helping Caleb make cards and sun catchers for his grandmother's as well. I think it is wonderful to set aside a day to honor and remember Mom's and the important women in our lives.

*stamps. This week the price went up a penny to mail a letter. If you think about it though, 42 cents is still very inexpensive to get a letter from me to anyone in the country. I know email is cheaper but hand written mail is so nice to send and receive!

*God's timing. I sometimes try to hurry things up or rush things along but God often just says slow down and makes me trust his timing. I read a quote this week that goes along with this. "God's timing is rarely our timing. But far better than we do, He numbers our days and knows our moments and hours. Our task is to trust." Os Guinness

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you." Psalm 9:10
*Stamps*; I so never thought how important they really still are and it's a reminder how the simple things in life are harder to find; Praise God though that there is no price on God's love and He paid the ultimate price for all of us.
Oh. I just love it when the kids are sincerely apologetic - especially when they are all on their own without any prodding from me. It doesn't happen as often as I'd like, but I appreciate it when it happens.
Lovely post. Children can be so sweet. When my mum was in the UK, my little cousin broke her eye glasses and was so sorry. We were touched when she came to Nigeria 6 months later, saw my mum and the 1st thing she said was 'Big Mummy I'm sooo sorry!'
I love the one about holding your husband's hand as you fall asleep! It is so easy to take the little stuff like that for granted. Just last night my husband told me he loves getting to be next to me as we fall asleep! So sweet!
Hope your trip was blessed!
I never thought about being thankful for stamps, but you are right. It those handwritten notes that I usually save and treasure.
Thank you for this thoughtful reminder.
Have a wonderful weekend. Don't you just love the ability to schedul posts now? I'm doing the same thing for this weekend.
I love that you are thankful for holding your husband's hand at night. We have a nightly thing, too. I cannot sleep soundly until he pats my side. I have taken this for granted for so long. Thank you for reminding me that it is a blessing.
