I wasn't sure what to call this month's Friday Favorites theme. It took me all week to decide what to do for this month. I hope you enjoy the songs I pick out. They always encourage me and lift me up when I hear them. I know for sure two I'll do and know I'll be able to figure out three more for this month without any trouble.
The first one is called "I Will Lift My Eyes" by Bebo Norman. It is playing on his site. I found a couple of great videos with this song also on YouTube if you want to watch those. The words of this song came to mind recently and brought me comfort. I hope you will listen and be blessed!
It seems I have posted this Psalm here before. It is Psalm 121 (the reference used in this song) and is special to me for several reasons. It is one I wrote down and was working to memorize during my pregnancy. Also it was read at Peepaw's funeral.
It is so encouraging to me to know I can look to my Maker, Calmer, and Healer for anything I am going through.
"1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore."
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend! I hope the songs this month will encourage you.

God is so faithful. I am so thankful to serve such a merciful, gracious Lord. He will never leave me...
I forgot to tell you that I think I know how to do the shaded box. I've never tried it but I found instructions on how to do it. What's the best way to send it to you?
Beautiful!! I like reading about your songs each Friday!!
PS- Give Caleb a big hug and say "Thanks" for me! :)
I love that song and that Psalm! I remember memorizing Psalm 121 my senior year in high school. It was in my literature book in public school!
We just studied this Psalm in our Beth Moore Bible Study on Psalms of the Ascent... so glad to see your reminder. Thanks!
