Book #17: Do You Think I'm Beautiful?

It's been a while since I've finished a book. This one has been in my stack from the library for a while now. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it and would recommend it to you. It is called Do You Think I'm Beautiful? by Angela Thomas. From the title you probably think it has to do with physical beauty. It is much more than that though.

The author talks about the deep desire of women to be loved and be beautiful. This is a hard thing for some of us to accept. We go through life feeling we're just mediocre, nothing special. This just isn't true. We were designed by God and He finds each of us to be beautiful. God doesn't want us to live thinking we're anything less. He created us to have these feelings and needs to be loved. People will fail us. Only when we're wrapped up in Him will we have met the desires of our hearts. She talks about the things in the world that keep us from believing we're beautiful, like the doubts thrown at us by satan and the world or past hurts and losses. Also, there are other things that will impact our relationship with God, such as our husbands, our friendships, relationships with our fathers, and the enticement of stuff.

I really cannot say enough good things about this book. It was very encouraging to me. I think it is a book all women can relate to, young or old. The author is easy to read and weaves in countless real-life experiences she has faced that go along with the sections of the book.
