A Thankful Heart
Take nothing for granted, for whenever you do
The "joy of enjoying" is lessened for you.
For we rob our own lives much more than we know
When we fail to respond or in any way show
Our thanks for the blessings that daily are ours...
The warmth of the sun, the fragrance of flowers,
The beauty of twilight, the freshness of dawn,
The coolness of dew on a green velvet lawn,
The kind little deeds so thoughtfully done,
The favors of friends and the love that someone
Unselfishly gives us in a myriad of ways,
Expecting no payment and no words of praise.
Oh, great is our loss when we no longer find
A thankful response to things of this kind,
For the JOY OF ENJOYING and the fullness of living
Are found in the heart that is filled with THANKSGIVING!

I read this poem this week and thought it would be a nice addition to my Thankful Thursday post. I have learned and am reminded weekly by participating in TT to remember to be thankful for all of life's blessings...big and small.
Today I am thankful for...
*my amazing sweet husband! He makes me feel so good with his positive encouragement and the appreciation he gives for things I do.
* the fun I've had with my boy this week. He makes whatever we do a fun time! Whether he is entertaining me with his play as I'm doing laundry or singing to me as we drive down the road, he always makes me smile.
*finding my lost CD case. I remembered the last time I had the case and could not find it. Of course it had in it the CD's I wanted to hear. I found it though. I had to look one more time under the car seat and there it was!
*friends who keep in touch. It is nice to know what is happening in the lives of my friends. They are important to me.
*the new friends I've made through my blog. I find inspiration, encouragement, and humor when I read other blogs and for those "day brighteners" I am thankful.
Visit other TT participants by heading over to Sting My Heart. Have a happy day!

I love, love, love that poem! Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. And I love your TT list. I don't think I'll have mine up until the morning. It's getting late here.
Have a blessed day!
Sometimes it's the small things that bring the biggest blessings in life.
I like it! Happy Thankful Thursday!
I love it when GOD helps me find things! (I'm SOOOOO ABSENT minded)

What a great poem. I love it. In fact I will copy it and take it to my Women's Ministry on Saturday if that is ok.Thanks for sharing a wonderful post.
Thank you for sharing these thoughts about TT! It brightened up my day! It is amazing how the Lord uses little things all day to reminds us of His goodness and faithfulness. We are never alone because we are always praising Him through the little things throughout the day! :)
What a sweet post! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and for stopping by my blog, too!
Blessings on the rest of your thankful Thursday!
What a beautiful poem - thank you for posting it today :)
You are right - there so many blessings around us - we just need to open our eyes to them.
Glad that you have found your CD case - is usually is the music we want to hear we seem to misplace. I misplaced my "Good Monsters" CD several months ago - finally found it after 2 months of searching.
Thank you for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.
Be blessed today and always...
Hi there,
Thanks for stopping by my blog ... and I just love your TT post! I have to say that identified most this week with finding the CD case ... isn't that the best when you find something you have lost?
Have a great week!
