Our growing boy!

Caleb always seems to be interested in time. He always wants to know the plan for the day and has our daily schedule down pat. He knows before, after, tomorrow, yesterday, and a long time ago. When we tell him we're going to visit Gramma, he wants to know for how many days and will count down each day on his fingers. Then with each finger standing for a day, he'll review the day's events as he counts how many days he has left till he goes home. He talks about his next birthday when he'll be four and "then after that I'll be five and go to school."

I know that school time is coming so quickly. Today on the way to Walmart he told me when he is five and goes to school, he would still get to go to Walmart with me on Tuesdays. It made my heart sad to think of him not being there to go along with me when I go shopping.

Yes, they really do grow up fast. But after he starts school you'll have a lot of wonderful things, too - his art work, his school programs, the amazing things he learns etc. etc. and you'll enjoy that time, too. Enjoy the time now and love him a lot. :)

Oh, that's sweet and kinda sad. I know as he grows and changes it must be difficult to continually challenging to adapt to his phases. Maybe ya'll can modify your routine so you cam still do the activities you both enjoy! :)

I know how all of that feels. I agree with runnergirl- I bet you'll find yourself sometimes taking him to Wal-Mart anyway.
