How I spent my Saturday

I went outside to a bright sunny morning. I went to a Creative Memories get together at the home of a friend from church. I'd never been to one of these before. The hostess had some delicious treats to serve for a brunch. Then I went to a couple stores by myself. I have not been to Walgreen's for a few weeks. This week their ad had several things they wanted so I was glad to get there before the sale ended.

I came home to a clean bathroom and bedroom. I could tell JMP had been working hard on it. They had worked in the garage too. There was a blockade of chairs across the path to the kitchen. Caleb was blocking the road he said! I helped some with the cleaning and Caleb had a short nap. (I was trying to plan for tonight's time change so he won't go to sleep so late tonight.)

Tonight we went to the local school talent show. They were having a silent auction too. We left about at the half-way point. They were having a live auction also. They announced that the proceeds from one of the baskets was going to a local family whose 12 year old son is in the hospital with burns on 50% of his body. We waited as they auctioned off that basket. It went for over $700, I think the final was $750! It just touched my heart to live in this community who cares for others in a time of need. They were also selling t-shirts where all the proceeds went to the family.

Now it's time for the time change. We better get our clocks changed and get to bed. Hope you're enjoying the weekend.

Thats awesome that people give unselfishly. They say that Americans give a lot in terms of donations.
