Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. If your life had a theme song for this past year what would it be?
This is one....

2. Chocolate cake, chocolate milkshake, chocolate ice cream, chocolate truffle, chocolate mousse, chocolate candy bar or a fudgy chocolate brownie...of the chocolate treats listed, which one is your favorite? Which one have you tasted most recently? Or maybe you don't like chocolate???

I love chocolate!  My Mom makes a delicious chocolate cake I do request on my birthday some years.  I do love a good chocolate milkshake too.
The one I've had most recently is a brownie.  I love hot fudge brownie sundaes with chocolate chip ice cream.

3. What has surprised you recently?

That my boy's sore throat was strep and not being out later than normal cheering at football games two nights in a row!  He was (finally...see note in #6) able to get medicine and felt better quickly.

4. September 19th is National Voter Registration Day in the US. Are you registered to vote in whatever state or country you happen to live in right now? If not, why not? Not counting a political race, what's something you've had to vote on recently?

Yes I am registered to vote.

Something I had to vote on recently.....does my vote for where we got supper count?

5. Do you like to hike? If so, when's the last time you went hiking and where'd ya go? If you're not a hiker are you a walker? Is walking (for exercise, etc.) part of your daily/weekly routine?

No I'm not for hiking.  One hike I remember was when we were on vacation in Arkansas in 2021.  I'd found a description of a trail and it sounded like something we could all do.  We got to the end, and Titus said, "We walked this far to see that???"  I guess he wasn't impressed by the trees and valley at the end of the trail.

We have a great neighborhood to walk around.  It's right at one mile to make the circle. (Titus told me one time it's more of a D than a circle.) I have not gotten back in the habit of walking since school started.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We took Titus to a walk in clinic when his throat continued to hurt through the day Sunday. When we got the RX to the pharmacy, they told us it was not written correctly for a 75 lb. boy, it was written for a 140 lb. adult.  So they wouldn't fill it. And because of the delay at the clinic (one of several complaints I had about this visit) they were already closed so they couldn't fix it.  It ended up we got a correct RX from a teledoc through our insurance. But had to wait until the next morning to get it.  The med helped quickly once he got it.  I was very frustrated that he had to deal with the pain.  I understand people make mistakes, but it was several things about the visit that did not go well and this was just super annoying.

Have a day of blessings!

Navigating health care in general is pretty frustrating these days. Hope your son is feeling better! I want chocolate cake on my birthday too.

That was an annoying visit! I'm glad Titus is feeling better now.

Gratitude is one of my most favorite songs. I usually tear up whenever I sing it! I like hiking, but I can remember lots of hikes we've been on where we've had the same reaction as Titus! LOL Hope you have a great week!

Lovely song choice. Yes, you do love chocolate. Sorry to hear about the strep throat. Yes, your vote for supper counts. That was really sad about the prescription. Glad you got it worked out. Take care.
